Company Profile - Founder

Mike Veverka is the CEO and founder of Manaccom Corporation. Born in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) on the 26th August 1965, Mike emigrated to Australia in 1969 (history buffs will remember this was the year of the controversial "Prague Spring").

Raised in the rapidly growing city of Brisbane, Mike graduated with an Engineering Degree with Honours from the Queensland University of Technology. His interest in computers started at an early age when he wrote and sold his first software package to Hewlett Packard at age 15.

Mike worked as a design engineer and computer programmer with Lange Dames & Campbell Consulting Engineers. After this, he combined his experience with computing and engineering to form a company that began developing software systems for the engineering industry.

With the rise of the Internet in 1994, Mike created "Squirrel Internet", one of Australia's first Internet Service Providers and "Squirrel Software Technologies", one of Australia's first Web development companies that specialized in interactive sites. This company built some of the first e-commerce software on the Internet and early versions of the Jumbostore were called the "Squirrel Store".

In 1998, the Internet Service business was sold along with the Squirrel name. The company still exists today and is part of the publicly listed Chariot Internet Group.

Mike was primarily responsible for designing, developing, building and promoting the publically listed company, Manaccom Corporation Limited. The company reflects his expertise in creative design, software development, innovative marketing, e-commerce and corporate experience.

A little known fact about Mike is his stint with professional tennis. He attended the famous and tough bootcamp-style Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida USA and toured the world competing in tournaments. (tip: Don't bet any money when challenged to a match!).
